The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Material Estimator to join our P-8 Government Estimating team in Tukwila, WA.

As a part of their performance of this role, this person will create Material Estimates utilizing CMES (Common Material Estimating System), Quotes, Cost Analysis Reports, and other source data. They will be responsible for the appropriate and thoughtful application of any necessary adjustments such as escalation and quantity adjust to source data to create as high-fidelity estimates as possible given time and resource constraints. They will also appropriately document and disclose information in alignment with TINA (Truth in Negotiations Act) requirements and in accordance with the BESM (Boeing Estimating System Manual), and FAR/DFARS (Federal Acquisition Regulations/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement). This role requires flexibility and the ability to embrace new challenges given novel situation and data constraints.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops estimates and prices from technical requirements through the design, build, and aftermarket support stages of the program

  • Develops, prepares, and validates estimates and prices

  • Evaluates requests for proposal, substantiates estimates/pricing and assembles price proposals

  • Develops estimating and pricing methods

  • Evaluates and develops business cases

  • Performs analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing/estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)

  • Develops and maintains pricing models

  • Incorporates data into and maintains structured systems and coordinates program database requirements

  • Develops/applies/maintains rates and factors for estimating, pricing and proposals

  • Performs compliance activities including policy and procedure development, system/tool deployment and training delivery

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • 3+ years of experience developing business case analysis

  • 3+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to proactively apply problem solving skills

  • Ability to work well independently, and as part of a team

  • Capable of learning new systems & tools, estimating techniques, and gain program knowledge in a dynamic environment

  • Able to coordinate and communicate effectively with external customer and across multiple functions including Finance, Supplier Management, and technical disciplines

  • Demonstrate analytical or estimating capabilities

  • Experience with time management skills to meet tight schedules with first time quality

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $75,000 – $95,400
