Abbott Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis – Gross Margin in Temecula, California

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Division.

Primary global financial point of contact for analyzing, reporting and communicating on the Abbott Vascular’s gross margin. Responsible for coordinating and consolidating the various actual and forecast gross margin deliverables, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of financial information. Serve as the finance support to the Global Gross Margin Improvement Senior Director. Produce analytics and provide business support to enable informed decision making. Prepare high quality presentations to be shared with senior leaders across the organization.

What You’ll Work On

  • Global coordination for routine analysis of gross margin, to enable clear and consistent communication of performance reporting for actuals or forecasting (LBEs and OEM). Includes the development of flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to analyze and consolidate results.

  • Develop high impact business analyses and decision support for executive management to support ideation of gross margin initiatives to optimize financial performance and profitability. Requires high levels of competence, confidence and credibility. Strategic and tactical decisions will be made based upon data the individual provides and/or presents in a management or informal setting.

  • Prepare clear and concise executive management presentation materials used to communicate division gross margin financial objectives and performance

  • Demonstrate appropriate level of leadership experience to lead and influence. Collaborate with global leaders to implement initiatives and monitor/report on results to objectives. Requires the ability to effectively influence in a matrixed environment, gaining buy-in and support against potentially competing priorities.

  • Communicate with global FP&A contacts to coordinate on routine and ad hoc management requirements

  • Serve as the primary global financial planning and analysis (FP&A) point of contact for gross margin for the division.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in in Accounting, Finance or similar subject area or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Minimum 8 years combined experience in accounting or finance (in addition to equivalent experience listed above). Prior supervisory experience of exempt employees preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization as well as with domestic and international colleagues

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a geographically diverse, matrixed organization

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities.

  • Previous experience delivering accurate financial information that adds value to management’s decision-making process

  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivots, what if/sum if, etc.)

  • Proficient with Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Dodeca or other financial planning tools is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree

  • MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.

  • CPA or other certifications

The base pay for this position is $109,300.00 – $218,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
