Microsoft Corporation Business Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Worldwide Incentive Compensation (WWIC) team is looking for a high-performing and action-oriented Business Program Manager interested in applying their skills in operations to help us achieve our business objectives. In this role you will play a key role in directly supporting a large and diverse global team, concentrating on developing practices that streamline the business and drive results.

You will effectively partner with teams within WWIC as well as our trusted partners (Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (CELA), Human Resources (HR), etc....) with a focus on operational initiatives. This dedicated Business Program Manager will establish and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting related to workforce productivity and own a series of projects and responsibilities tied to our optimization strategy. This role will exercise and develop your program management skills, require new and innovative approaches to manage and scale, and will include partnering with and supporting across all levels of the team. Responsibilities

• With minimal coaching, you will work with cross-functional stakeholders to design programs from initiation to delivery.

• You will define and track success criteria and performance metrics.

• You will define and execute on a landing plan, leading the rhythm of business (ROB) during execution.

• Identify and scope opportunities to improve operations of existing programs by defining complex program issues, assessing various scenarios, and selecting the optimal scenario to resolve issues.

• Drive clarity in complex program issues and strive for simplification.

• Cross-functional project management and collaboration across multiple teams and levels and boundaries. 

• As you contribute to or lead a portfolio of projects, you’ll communicate the program status and risk to stakeholders, and hold them accountable to following the schedule.

• You will work with other teams to ensure program processes are executed efficiently.

• You will collect and evaluate success metrics, and use a data driven approach to examine performance, derive value, and identify risk and opportunities.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Effective project management acumen with the ability to execute in an agile environment and ability to exert a broad influence model, especially with teams where you have no direct management control.

  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, proactive stakeholder engagement, a passion for learning, and the ability to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Stay connected to operational processes that other functions own to ensure understanding.

  • Identify opportunities to solve problems at the root and drive change at scale.

  • Work effectively in a changing environment, where required lead change management, and meet ongoing, overlapping deadlines with sometimes competing commitment timelines.

  • Develop and use actionable metrics/KPIs to drive improvements in performance and behavior.

  • Navigate and resolve unstructured deliverables and problems.

  • Generate accurate conclusions and actions using data from analytical queries or tools.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
