Job Title: Warehouse Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager directs the department to provide equipment, tools and supplies in order to support and optimize field operations.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with Prefabrication manager and team to identify deliveries-dates and times. Also work with warehouse admin to schedule delivery.

  • Coordinate with Prefabrication team on storage of incoming materials and help facilitate storage needs.

  • Support warehouse admin in daily operations for deliveries/pickups.

  • Work with site supervision to understand jobsite needs and work out solutions for problems that may arise. Maintain smooth operations for site teams.

  • Supervise and assist in training of warehouse key positions and Material Handlers.

  • Maintain shop cleanliness and organization -identify problem areas and efficiency issues.

  • Work with tool specialist to identify needs of tools and maintain stocking levels and work with warehouse manager on purchases.

  • Help tool specialist facilitate tool needs and tool sharing between sites as not to purchase unneeded tools.

  • Maintain stock of shipping materials, shipping carts, rolling totes, carts, and cages jobsite round ups of these.

  • Maintain image of tooling and shipping equipment, paint, stickers, overall quality of toolboxes and functionality of carts and cages ect.

  • Maintain employee day off calendar and requests to ensure adequate man power to support site needs.

  • Coordinate building and property maintenance.

  • Involve Warehouse Manager in decisions when more than general maintenance.

  • Coordinate and provide support with Office Manager for setup and teardown needed for company events, room set-ups, and various holiday traditions (pies).

  • Coordinate and support safety and appreciation lunches with Office Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Field and warehouse experience required.

  • Some college preferred; HS/GED required.

  • At least 5 years’ proven successful experience in a supervisory role.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong knowledge on logistics, and shipping.

  • Good driving record.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide innovative thinking to improve processes.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong critical thinking.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong commitment to employee safety.

Working Conditions:

Generally Monday – Friday during normal business hours (required to respond to after-hours requests); primarily indoors (warehouse); warehouse temperatures varies by season; some office work in a temperature-controlled environment; may encounter noise from machinery/equipment/vehicles.

While performing the duties of this job, the WM may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions while on construction job sites (weather, noise, etc.)

Physical requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Warehouse Assistant Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time (8 hours or more); bend/stoop, kneel/crouch; lift move or push up may vary up to 75lbs; good manual dexterity (use/management of tools); ability to climb using a ladder. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Direct reports:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager will have no direct reports but will directs the activities of the warehouse staff.
