Nanostring Supervisor, Technical Services in Mill Creek, Washington

The Technical Service Department is responsible for the repair and refurbishment of Nanostring Instruments and Parts as returned from the field. The supervisory role will oversee the daily scheduling, performance, training and development of a team of Technicians performing these activities. In addition. this position may be needed to help perform instrument Quality Control, Installations, Preventative Maintenance, Operational Qualifications, Performance Qualifications, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, optical, and fluidic instrumentation for multiple instruments. This position resides in the Operations department and reports directly to the (Sr.) Director of Manufacturing. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Bioengineering Experience (Or) -8 years of practical experience as Field Service Engineer or Product Support Engineer for Life Science or medical device industry -8 years of experience in design or development for Life Science or medical device industry -1 Year of People Management experience - Analytical and creative problem solving skills -Excellent written and oral communication skills -Excellent presentation skills -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams -Ability to multi-task and take a creative approach to problem solving -Demonstrated problem solving skills in a complex fast paced environment and in complex situations -Demonstrated experience leading a team with setting priorities and mentoring skills -Proficient in the use of MS Office Processes Maintain, develop and update documentation related to refurbishment of Instruments and parts following revision controlled Standard Operating Procedures Perform Quality Control testing on Nanostring instruments and parts Master and train on troubleshooting, Repair, and requalification of instruments in accordance to training and service manuals Daily Management inputs and improvements Assist in development and implementation of streamlined Field RMA processes and paperwork and transactions Supervise direct reports Assign task and maintain accountability of direct reports Update Daily Management Tracking and employ Leader Standard Work Perform annual performance reviews and goal settings to support corporate goals and timelines Mentor direct reports with 1:1s and instrument functional training Target Base Salary Range: $87,000-$120,000 Base Base salary is an integral part of NanoString's total compensation package. Base salary considers an individual's skills, experience, and competitive market value. The base salary range represent what NanoString pays for a job within a salary grade based on external market data in comparison to similar positions from other companies in our industry. Employees generally enter a salary grade at the lower-to-mid-point in the range. Other compensation elements include a discretionary annual bonus, incentive compensation for sales roles, , comprehensive benefit plans and paid time off, including designated holidays.
