Federal Emergency Management Agency Housing Group Supervisor in Kihei, Hawaii
In this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position, you will serve as a Lead Emergency Management Specialist, Housing Group Supervisor in the Maui Long Term Recovery Office in the Individual Assistance Branch.
Typical assignments include:
- Providing efficient and effective Individual and Households Program (IHP) delivery to the disaster survivors and makes recommendations to immediate supervisor.
- Managing and coordinating all IHP functions including Housing Assistance, Other Needs Assistance, and Direct Housing in a disaster operations environment.
- Supervising staff assigned to IHP, acting as a coach/evaluator for staff supporting disaster operations and assists training as required. Ensuring that personnel receive needed training and coaching. Establishing work assignments and setting priorities.
- Supporting emergency recovery activities focused on Individual Assistance Programs to ensure the timely provision of life-sustaining services and resources to evacuees and disaster survivors.
- Executing the most complex and unprecedented aspects of Individual Assistance programs and coordination with stakeholders in cooperation with IA Branch Director.
- Coordinating with other Federal agencies, FEMA LTRO and Regional staff and State government agencies to ensure the capability to continue essential functions during any event or incident.
- Developing and issuing recovery plans, procedures, and risk assessments with voluntary organization partners to fulfill requests in a timely and effective manner.
Evaluating plans and guidance for compliance with established emergency management directives, overarching policies, and enabling legislation.
